The holidays are both a time to reflect on the past and a time to look forward.  Bethenny takes time to do both as she makes a plan for herself, while also helping others to do the same.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
We are taking the holidays off. Everybody needs a break.
I don't know about you, but it's felt more intense
this year. I don't know why. It feels in many
ways that work is more crazy now because maybe it's
like delayed coming off the pandemic. There's just more going on.
But everyone I know is a chicken without a head,
and I just want to breathe. I really want to breathe.

(00:35):
I want to be present, I want to connect. I
want to be present and create beautiful memories with my daughter,
and I want to be in the air, in the mountains, snowboarding,
feeling free, breathing. I hope I don't blow up like
a tick like last year, because I don't do well
in the altitude and it's progressively gotten worse, and it's

(00:57):
my favorite place. So people may say to me, why
the hell would you go there when you had a
bad reaction last year, because I love it so much
and my daughter loves it and I've had so many
memories there. So I'm getting on this medication and hoping
it will help. But I'm going on a romantic vacation
with Paul. For part of the trip, I'm going to
be home with my daughter in the Hampton's for part
of the trip. It's really going to be a mixed

(01:18):
holiday and I'm excited. I feel like I've worked really hard.
It's been a really interesting year. My career has taken
such an incredible turn. This podcast has given me so
much this year, so I thank you so much. It's
been really rewarding to be able to say things I
want to say, have conversations I want to have, give
people a vehicle and a platform to use their voice.

(01:42):
Many people are not heard and for different reasons. There
are many people that came on here that get to
sort of speak in sound bites or just you know,
talk in a quick social media video, but they haven't
really had an in depth conversation about things they're going through.
So I love that. I love talking to entrepreneurs that

(02:02):
can help give you advice. I love laughing. I like
using The Housewives as a vehicle for different life lessons
and just talking about a crazy, ridiculous show to amusing people.
Comedians I've had a fun time with. I've met so
many people like I know people I didn't know. I
didn't know Brian Austin Green, I didn't really know Jenny Garth.

(02:24):
I didn't know Jenny McCarthy. Like so many people I
talked to for a longer period, Joel McHale comes to mind.
Like that I just really found fascinating. I was able
to help a girl, Rachel, who went through a terrible time.
I reconnected with Jill. I had a bunch of laughs
with Nannie and did something quite scary for the both
of us that ended up working out well. I was social.

(02:46):
I had a big iHeart dinner, so this was really
great for me. Also just meeting so many different people
and being proud of this podcast. It's grown. It's been
a smash, blowout success. We were on a top ten
list recently for top ten podcasts that are flying, which
is amazing, Like pot Ones to watch. That was amazing.

(03:07):
There are millions of podcasts. We went to number one
this year in all podcasts. I mean, it was really
interesting and fun and I'm working really hard, but it's
exactly what I like doing. I left Reality TV to
do exactly what I wanted and provide content to the people,
which is exactly what we've done. So that was a
great success. Britton came on and we did a mom

(03:31):
Embarrassment podcast and last night, Brynn was saying to me
that I say to her, no matter what happens, no
matter what happens, if someone falls on television, I tell
Brince she has to be so careful about whatever that
person fell from. If I stub my toe and start screaming,
I tell Brynn it's so dangerous and she has to
be careful. She was laughing like how embarrassed? Like nothing,
nothing that happens in a day. Do I not end

(03:52):
up saying back to Brynn, like you have to be
careful when it wasn't even her that did it and
she was crying. I was like, we have to do that.
On the podcast the mom embarrassed and has been very serious.
Uh with brinn embarrassment. My social media, I became the
accidental influencer. It became a real thing. It became like
a real business, and it was it's been so fun

(04:12):
to be like the trusted beauty and food and coconut
cake and mocktail reviewer. My mingle mocktails launch this year
with me Forever Young launched. I mean, it was a crazy,
amazing year. I made a turnaround and liking the way
that the Kardashians turned their lives around. I think they

(04:34):
went a little more quiet. They weren't so in your
face all the time. I think they made some changes.
I like single Kim, I made a turnaround when Megan
and Harry went quiet because they weren't just trying to
be in the media all the time. They like you know,
went quiet, and so I went quiet because that was nice.

(04:55):
The Reality Reckoning, you know, broke through and made changes
in the entertainment industry. We made changes as a result
of this podcast. We made changes in reality television. Indisputably,
there have been changes that have been mandated by the
Powers that be in the way that alcohol and substance
abuse is treated on the show and alcohol consumption is monitored.

(05:21):
Emotional well being and mental health has been something that
has been focused on now in entertainment as a result
of The Reality Reckoning. A lot went down. A lot
went down.
